Article Marketing - Own the Directory or Submit to Directories?

Articles: Is It Better to Give or Receive?

I don’t claim to be an article marketing expert, but I do both. I run about 10 article sites and I submit articles using an auto submitter. I feel that you can make money both ways.

I submit anywhere from 5 to 25 articles per weeks using a free, online article submitter to post my articles to hundreds or thousands or sites. The articles run from 500 to 1,000 words and are related to whatever it is that I am selling.

For example, I write articles about Thailand while promoting my affiliate hotel sites geared specifically to Thailand. I also write marketing articles and point them to a variety of sites that I run.

Using the auto submitter, I can get my articles and more importantly, links to my sites, all over the Internet. The more links that point back to my sites, the better the search engines like me.

I have about 10 different article sites and a few blogs that accept articles automatically. I manually approve each and every article. I like to check to make sure that the articles are following my submission guidelines. The biggest violators put links in the text and more than 2 links in the resource box. I try to contact them to advise them of the rules and if they continue, I disable their accounts.

So, which is better? I would have to say that submitting the articles is the more beneficial as it gets my links in hundreds or even thousands of web sites. Back links are looked upon very favorably by the search engines and I love to have my links everywhere and for a long time. And, if I am lucky, some marketer or eZine will send out my article to their mail list getting me more exposure.

Running the article sites is a bit time consuming since I have to check the articles 2 or 3 times per day or I get inundated. Manual approval is a must for me since I want to check and make sure the articles are quality. And with the auto submitters, not many actual people visit the site, just the auto bots. But I still think there is value since my own articles get posted to my article sites, I can easily advertise, and they are ranked high in Google and Alexa.

So, I would try to do both but would put the emphasis on getting my articles out to the world with links back to my sites. This will get more traffic and hopefully more sales.

Getting Your Articles Read - Six Hot Tips.

6 Red Hot Tips To Get Your Articles Read

There are many people who dread having to write papers or articles. Many just feel like it seems to be too much work and it all just goes to waste when no one reads the. To some people, reading articles seems like work to, especially if the article is boring and very bland. Well, articles are supposed to be read, that's their purpose to impart your message and information. If it is not read then it is a waste of time and effort.

But all the same, articles have to be written to be read. It's just a matter of making them good. Making a good article doesn't have to be strenuous and straining. There are just some points needed to be reminded of, and some guides to follow. Once you get the hang of it, writing articles could be fun, as well as profitable for you and your site.

Of course, writing articles must be about something you know about, that's why if you own a site, you probably is knowledgeable about that certain topic and theme. When you write about it, you won't have a hard time because you already know what it is and what it's about. It's just a matter of making your articles creative and interesting.

To make sure that your articles get read and enjoyed, here are six red hot tips to get your articles read. These tips will make your articles readable and interesting.

1) Use short paragraphs. When the paragraph are very long, the words get jumbled in the mind of the reader just looking at it It can get quite confusing and too much of a hard work to read. The reader will just quickly disregard the paragraph and move on to much easier reading articles that are good to look at as well as read. Paragraphs can be a single sentence, sometimes even a single word!

2) Make use of numbers or bullets. As each point is stressed out, numbers and bullets can quickly make the point easy to remember and digest. As each point, tip, guide or method is started with a bullet or point, readers will know that this is where the tips start and getting stressed. Format you bullets and numbers with indentations so that your4 article won't look like a single block of square paragraphs. Add a little bit of flair and pizzazz to your articles shape.

3) Use Sub-headings to sub-divide your paragraphs in the page. Doing this will break each point into sections but still would be incorporated into one whole article. It would also be easy for the reader to move on from one point to another; the transition would be smooth and easy. You will never lose your readers attention as well as the point and direction to where the article is pointing.

4) Provide a good attention-grabbing title or header. If your title can entice a person's curiosity you're already halfway in getting a person to read your article. Use statements and questions that utilize keywords that people are looking for. Provide titles or headers that describe your articles content but should also be short and concise.

Use titles like, "Tips on making her want you more", or "How to make her swoon and blush" .You could also use titles that can command people, for example, "Make her yours in six easy Ways". These types of titles reach out to a persons' emotions and makes them interested.

5) Keep them interested from the start to the finish. From your opening paragraph, use real life situations that can be adopted by the reader. Use good descriptions and metaphors to drive in your point, just don't over do it. Driving your examples with graphic metaphors and similes would make it easy for them to imagine what you are talking about. Making the experience pleasurable and enjoyable for them.

6) Utilize figures when necessary and not just ordinary and insipid statements. Using specific facts and figures can heighten your article because it makes it authoritative. But do not make it too formal, it should be light and easy in them and flow. Like a friendly teac her having a little chat with an eager student.

How You Can Really Profit From Article Marketing

Tip! Keep in mind that Article Marketing is not an ad, so you can not just start writing about how great your product or service is but rather supply helpful informative content for readers.

OK. You have decided to write an article. It should be something you are passionate about or at the very least have some knowledge of the subject.

Let's go into some depth about researching the substance of your article.

RESEARCHING YOUR SUBJECT

If you are passionate and know enough about the article subject you will probably be able to write a 700 - 1000 word article in less than 30 minutes.

Once you have chosen your niche start using the search engines to get a feel for the information that's being returned for your search phrases.

Visit some article directories, (use the term "article directories" in Google to find plenty), and do a search of these article directories to see what information other authors are submitting.

Check out Forums to see what questions people are asking then write an article with the information they are seeking. Give people what they want.

Tip! Your online business will experience strong benefits from article marketing. A serious program of article marketing will save you time and money, increase your sales and profits, enhance your image, and expand your reach.

If you wish you can go down the road of researching articles and posts on newsgroups, Google / Yahoo groups, CNN, BBC and so on but to be honest this will probably result in too much information and you will never get an article written.

(It is handy to keep a small notebook and pencil with you to jot down ideas when they occur. Great ideas always occur when we don't have a pencil which is why we are not millionaires just yet!)

Tip! Article marketing may be one of the most efficient and lowest cost generators of high quality sales leads in existance.

Writing your Article

You Can:

1. Write it yourself.

2. Out source your article to a ghost writer

3. Use Private Label Rights (PLR) articles

==

1. Write it yourself.

The majority of people will immediately say "I can't write". This is utter nonsense. People may be a little apprehensive or just plain afraid to put pen to paper for others to see but just about anyone can write an article about something they know.

It's all about comfort zones and if we are not prepared to expand our comfort zones just because we feel somewhat awkward then nothing will ever get done. So just remember you CAN write articles so get writing.

Tip! Once you start writing articles regularly, automate your article submissions to the article directories by using an article submission tool.

Make sure you are providing quality content. A mistake some folks make is to write adverts for their affiliate products with a link to buy. If you have given the reader a quality article they will start to trust you and eventually buy from you.

Articles are written to:-

1. Directly inform the reader through quality content and 2. Indirectly sell to the reader.

The sales part is through your resource or bio box. This is worth spending some time on as apart from wanting your readers to visit your website you also want the search engines to index the links back to your site. These links are hugely important as they carry a lot of weight with Google.

So you now have the article written with quality content. Let's look at the resource box and anchor text links.

Tip! The power of article marketing is proven and viral. If you are a website owner, you should certainly be using it to drive free targeted traffic to your website.

Try to give your readers some reason to click on the links in your resource box. If they have enjoyed your article and want more information then that is a good reason. Let them know that you do have more for them but they will have to go to your website.

Anchor Text Link

It is not possible to show you the exact html as tags are not generally allowed in article bodies but my resource box is an example of anchor text and you can always use the view source function of your browser.

If possible also use a straight http:// link as sometimes the anchor text html is not allowed or not recognized by some article directories.

2. Out Source Your Article

There are numerous sites dedicated to outsourcing - Scriptlance and Elance are probably the best known. These are not just for article writing but you can hire the services of a Pro for just about anything you want.

Note: When I say Pro be careful because there are sharks around. Always deal with the writer through the site and if asked to make an outside payment through E-gold then back off as you will probably never see your money again.

Tip! One of the glaring 'missing links' in the onlne promotional tools, supplied by network marketing companies, is the mechanism to 'close the marketing loop' for the distributor. Article marketing provides that mechanism in a way that is powerful, productive, and free.

It can be as cheap as $5 per article but you still need to know exactly what to ask for. It's no good saying "giving me an article on …". You must be very specific on subject, title, keywords, keyword density and you generally have to supply resources for the ghost writer to refer to.

Sometimes by the time you have collected the resources and other article information you may as well have written the article yourself.

Check the feedback of people you intend to hire and consider that cheapest is not always best. You may be able to secure a more cost effective per article price if you want 10 or more articles written around the same theme.

3. Use Private Label Rights (PLR) articles

I am not convinced that this is really of any use at all. The "experts" are making a big deal of this at the moment and flogging off PLR packages left right and center for next to nothing… actually you can actually download PLR articles and products for free just by giving your email address.

Tip! The most common mistake I see in article marketing is a lack of focus. I see so many people trying to promote their sites by writing about things that are not related.

In my experience the articles are sub standard and I would be ashamed to post them for review to a human editor. Of course you are meant to alter the articles so they magically become unique to avoid any perceived duplicate content penalties from the search engines but in all honesty the time spent changing these "articles" could be better spent doing your own research.

If you haven't tried PLR take an article and run it through Copyscape.com. Now see how long it will take for you to make a unique article.

You can buy software to transform a rubbish article into thousands of "unique articles" in seconds. Again, I am not convinced. The whole process reeks of cheating or, at best, is morally suspect and it definitely is not giving the reader quality content which is what I thought writing articles was meant to be about. Should I find a good PLR system I'll write an article on it.

Tip! I believe that laziness is the root of all evil in the article marketing world. Any type of marketing will not work unless effort is expended and techniques are repeated regularly and reliably.

You can however get some ideas for niches and the articles can at least give you a starting point for writing.
